MEETING MINUTES
Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Bethany Bletsch, President.
Roll was called. Visitors included Terry & Karen from the Thunderbird Bay area, Kathy Washington from Lometa (Linda Brown’s daughter), Donna Hill from Bangs and Mae Shaw from Stephenville, the program presenter.
Meeting minutes from the October 20, 2009 meeting were previously e-mailed to members for review. Joy Early made the motion to accept the minutes as read, Pat Karnes seconded the motion, motion carried.
Treasurer’s report was previously emailed to members for review. Ruby Goodwin made the motion to accept the report as presented. Joy Ivy seconded the motion, motion carried.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
1.Audit Report. Report presented by Benita Pipes. Will be meeting this afternoon to review the quilt show budget. Most audit suggestions have already been implemented..
2.Block of the Month Exchange. Report presented by Nancy Tubb. The Folk Hearts on black background is this month’s block. There will not be a block for December, the block for January will be the pinwheel.
3.Charm Square Exchange. Report presented by Bethany Bletsch in the absence of Norma Bessent. This month’s squares were purple. There are no squares for December, the squares for January will be Christmas prints.
4.Greeter Report. Lynn Patrick is our greeter. Nothing to report.
5.Program Activity. This month’s program is the One Block Wonder presented by Mae Shaw from Stephenville. Next month’s program will be the Christmas Party.
6.Quilt Show Report. A show update was provided by Angela McCorkle.
a.The vendor selection committee will be meeting today at the conclusion of the meeting to review applications received.
b.Joyce Kelley has the advance ticket packets ready for the donation quilt, everyone should pick one up before they leave.
c.Still have not confirmed a workshop person for the show. Currently negotiating with Tricia Cribbs from Friendfolks (turning twenty lady). Nothing definite at this time.
d.The donation quilt has been quilted and was available for display.
e.Chamber requests for funding will be submitted in December.

7.Sunshine Report was presented by Sherry Benbow. Get well cards were sent to Barbara Spinks & Marilyn DeHay. Peggy Gamblin is still recovering. Tricia Emery had surgery recently and will be sending a card to her. Joyce Kelley is here today and has recovered well form her hip surgery. Sympathy card was sent to Mildred Turner whose brother passed away unexpectedly.
8.Strip Exchange. Report presented by Ruby Goodwin. This month’s strip color is purple. There will not be an exchange for December, the color for January will be Christmas prints.
9.CPS Project. Jeanie Ortegon presented this report. Nothing new to report. Brief summary of project was presented for visitors.
10.Wee Care Project. Bethany Bletsch presented this report. New quilts/blankets received: Lynn Patrick – 1; Maxine Vaughn – 2; Linda Brown & Daughter – 2 quilts 3 receiving blankets, 2 burp pads.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
1.The officers are still working on the by-laws, nothing compiled at this point to present for review. This revision will be postponed until a determination concerning the evening group is decided.
2.The guild website is up and running!!!! To view it go to www.brownwoodquiltersguild.com . Bethany expressed her appreciation to the website committee members, Benita Pipes, Nancy Tubb, Norma Bessent for their work on this committee. Bethany was also a member of this committee.
3.Millie Schwabb presented information on quilt entry for the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Official rules for the 2010 show will be available January 2010.
4.Evening group will meet this evening at 6:00, they will have an EQ6 presentation for those who wish to attend.
NEW BUSINESS
1.The Christmas Party was discussed. It was decided that everyone will bring a quilt related gift for the exchange with a $10.00 limit. Brisket for the main entrée will be provided, everyone else is to bring a covered dish of their choice. We will meet at 10:00 in December instead of the regular 9:00 time to allow the committee sufficient time to set up and decorate for the meeting.
2.Benita Pipes presented a report on their tour of the ARK. Discussed the needs of the program and where they receive their funding and what services they provide to individuals in their program. They can always use the following items: Linens, kitchenware, toiletries, clothing, toys, books, paper goods, can goods, magazines etc. Those who would like to donate any of the above items to the ARK, please bring it to the next meeting and we will deliver it to them as a donation from the guild.
3.Lynn Patrick asked that if any members had any orphan blocks that they no longer wanted, she would love to have them.

MONTHLY DRAWINGS:
The fat quarter drawing was won by Lynn Patrick. No exchange will be conducted for December. The color for January is Red.
The block drawing was won by Sherri Marshall.
