JUNE MEETING
BROWNWOOD QUILTERS GUILD
The June 15th, 2010 meeting of the Brownwood Quilters Guild was called to order by Pres. Angela McCorkle. There were 29 members and 2 guests present. Bethany Bletsch moved and Jeanie Ortegon seconded that minutes from the May meeting be approved as posted. LaTrelle Locks moved and Sherri Marshall seconded that the treasurer’s report be approved as posted.
Angela announced the following committee chairs:
Mystery Block (formerly Block of the Month) – Nancy Tubb
CPS – Ruby Goodwin
Wee Care Quilts – Joy Ivy
Quilt Show – Angela McCorkle
Publicity – Bethany Bletsch
Website – Sherri Marshall and Bethany Bletsch
Sunshine – Sherry Benbow
Hospitality – Lynn Patrick and Tricia Emery
There were 4 wee care quilts given to Joy. LaTrelle pointed out that the label on the Wee Care Quilts should be spelled “WEE” instead of “WE”. Jonna will forward the label to members with email after the yearbooks for 2010-2011 are distributed.
Angela announced the following sub committees for the Quilt Show.
2012 Raffle Quilt – A Chair is still needed
Ribbons for 2011 Show – A chair is still needed but Tricia Emery has volunteered to serve on the committee
Entries – Sherri Marshall
Door Prizes – Angela McCorkle
Project Booth – each project chair

Workshop – Joyce Kelley
Angela presented the Quilt Show report for 2010. Last month a collection was taken for the flowers sent to Linda Brown’s funeral. There was on $30 collected. LaTrelle Locks moved that we reimburse the difference to Bethany for the flowers. Joy Ivy seconded the motion. Motion carried. There was discussion that the “charity change” be changed to the “sunshine fund” beginning January 1st, 2011. Bethany moved that the “charity change” continue as is until January 1st, 2011 and be re-evaluated at that time. Karen Reed seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ruby Goodwin moved that we limit the dollar amount for flowers to $50 plus tax. Judy Tiedmann seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Angela announced that the Mesquite Quilt Show at the Rutherford Community Center is the 4th weekend in June.
Joyce Kelley passed around a sign up for the workshop after the August meeting Fabric Dying with Herb Morehead. Each person needs to bring 3 yards of fabric to dye or pay $10.50 and he will provide the fabric. Each person will go home with 12 dyed fat quarters .

The Monthly drawing for fat quarters was won by Joy Ivy, Joyce Kelley won the door prize, and Sherry Benbow won the Blocks for the month. Angela presented Bethany Bletsch with friendship blocks made by members as a thank you for serving as President for 2009-2010.
Lori Shelton of Feathered Nest Designs presented the program “Part 2 The Anniversary Mystery Quilt”. Bethany Bletsch won the blocks used in the quilt program.
