The program for the September meeting of the Brownwood Quilters Guild was presented by Marcella League, Vice President of the Guild. Marcella brought a wonderful program called "Dressed to the Nines". It was a very inspiring and informative program about Nine Patch blocks. As part of the program we learned that the term "dressed to the nines" came about in the 1800's and referred to a woman being dressed up enough to be wearing the long, 9 button gloves. Marcella brought several beautiful quilt tops that she has pieced and showed the variety of things that can be done with a 9 patch block. She also showed us how to make a machine cover and mat from reusable shopping bags! Thanks Marcella for sharing your talent with us!
