JANUARY 2013 MEETING
BROWNWOOD QUILTERS GUILD
The January 15, 2013 meeting of the Brownwood Quilters Guild was called to order by President, Nancy Tubb.
There were 22 members present including Debra Revay who renewed her membership. There was one visitor: Vicki Mazurek from Comanche.
General Announcements
The minutes of the December meeting were read by Secretary, Benita Pipes. There were no corrections. Doris Rice made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Joy Ivy seconded, and the motion carried.
The Treasurer’s Report was presented. The balance as of January 15, 2013 was $5,9014.78. A motion to accept the report was made by LaTrelle Locks and seconded by Ruby Goodwin. The motion carried.
The February program will be "Celebrate the Heart." There will be a pot luck luncheon and Secret Sisters will be revealed. Several "make and take" projects will be offered.
Old Business
A volunteer or group is still needed to coordinate taking the donation quilt to various locations for ticket sales.
New Business
A motion was made by Doris Rice seconded by Marcella League for the Guild to purchase aprons to be worn at the quilt show. The motion carried.
Judy Laquidara presented the block of the month for February.
The fat quarter theme for February is "red and white" or "white and red."
Jonna Burkes is responsible for the March block of the month.
Committee Reports
WEE Care – Joy Ivy reported that 20 quilts were taken to the hospital.
Sunshine –Carol Casserilla is home from the hospital.

Monthly Drawings
The Block of the Month drawing was won by Benita Pipes. The Fat Quarter drawing was won by Sheila Smith.
Door prizes ($20 gift certificates) were won by Benita Pipes and Mildred Turner. Other door prizes including books and patterns were won by Ruby Goodwin, Millie Schwab, Debra Revay and Bethany Bletsch.
The meeting was adjourned for a market demo and trunk show by Angela McCorkle.
