FEBRUARY 2013 MEETING
BROWNWOOD QUILTERS GUILD
The February 19, 2013 meeting of the Brownwood Quilters Guild was called to order by President, Nancy Tubb.
Previous visitor, Vicki Mazurek from Comanche, joined the Guild. There were no new visitors.
A thank you card from the Pregnancy Care Center was read.
General Announcements
The minutes of the January meeting were read by Secretary, Benita Pipes. There were no corrections. Judy Tiedemann made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Doris Rice seconded, and the motion carried.
The Treasurer’s Report was presented. The balance as of February 19, 2013 was $5,306.17. A motion to accept the report was made by LaTrelle Locks and seconded by Cindy Hadley. The motion carried.
The March program will be presented by Angela McCorkle who will demonstrate the "Five Minute Block" and the "Ten Minute Block."
Old Business
The quilt show aprons were available for purchase at $6.50 each
New Business
The donation quilt will be displayed at the gun show on March 23 and 24. A sign-up sheet for volunteers was circulated.
There was no block of the month presented for March.
Doniene Fullagar is responsible for the March block of the month.
The fat quarter theme for March is "Big, Bold Floral."
Committee Reports
WEE Care/CPS – A number of quilts and bags were donated. A full reporting will be made in March.
Sunshine –A "thinking of you" card was sent to Robin and Steve Moody. Carol Casserilla is having surgery.
Quilt Show – Angela McCorkle announced that a meeting of all quilt show committee chairs will be held immediately following the March meeting.
Monthly Drawings
The Block of the Month drawing was won by Sheila Smith. The Fat Quarter drawing was won by Lynn Patrick.
The meeting was adjourned for the Secret Sister Reveal, "make and take" projects and luncheon. Various door prizes were awarded throughout the day. At 3:00 p.m. the grand prize Oliso iron was won by LaTrelle Locks. The second place prize basket was won by Nancy Tubb.
