MEETING
MINUTES
The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by guild President, Joy
Ivy. Roll was called.
There were 22 members present. No
visitors. The Sunshine Report was given by various members; but, we did welcome
Sherry Benbow back! Judy Tiedemann’s
husband had another stroke. ( After the meeting, Judy messaged me that she took
him to the V.A. hospital.) Alice Young
is back home & doing therapy 2 days a week.
Nancy Tubb is home recuperating after knee surgery. Terri Reed is going to have to have more hip
surgery, therefore it is unlikely her or her Mother, Karen will return to the
guild. Minutes
from the October meeting were discussed.
Doris Rice made a motion to
accept the minutes as written, Angela McCorkle seconded the motion. Motion carried.
STANDING
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Treasurers
Report: Cindy Hadley gave the
report. Doniene Fullagar made a motion
to accept treasurer's report. Marilyn
DeHay seconded it. Motion carried.
Block of the Month Exchange:
Vickie Mazurek presented the block for next month. The pattern is a Friendship Star block. Colors will be red, white & one other
color of your choice. Vickie said, if we
like, she thought t would be nice for everyone to put their name in the center
square of the block. Vickie read the
history of the “Friendship Star” block, which was quite interesting.
Doris Rice showed her Row by Row for next month, which is a churn dash
block for everyone.
Vickie Mazurek showed some of the quilt show ribbons made by her,
Sherri Marshall, Jeanie Ortegon & LaTrelle Locks.
Strip Exchange: No exchange for
December
CPS Bags Report: Robin Moody
was present but nothing to report.
Wee Care Report: No report
given as Judy was out with her husband.
Quilt Show Report: Angela reported
that everything is going as scheduled.
Nothing new to reportother than still in need of some committee
chairmen.
General
Business: Doniene is going to send out
directions to those that request it. She
needs a head count of who all plan to attend the Christmas party at her house
by December 10th.
Old
business: The
Brownwood Chamber wants us to provide Christmas Quilts for Christmas Under the Stars on December 7th
& 8th. The quilts need to
be taken to the Chamber by Dec. 4th.
You can pick up your quilts on the 8th after the event closes
or Mon. at the Chamber. The gingerbread
men project was scrapped.

Cindy Hadley- Flying Dutchman quilt, bought at an auction.
LaTrelle Locks- Blue jean apron
made by her sister’s Mother-in-law.
Doris Rice- Halloween bloghop project, wall hanging & pillow. Texas Heart “Heart’s Desire” quilt. It is published in 100 Quilt Blocks magazine. Strada Star, a Christmas tree skirt. Christmas wall hanging. Rooster placemats. Hand-pieced chain block quilt that was
purchased at Fredericksburg Trade Days & was hand quilted by Stella Burns
church group.
MONTHLY
DRAWINGS:
The monthly block drawing was won by Doniene Fullagar.
The strip drawing was won by
Doris Rice.
Door Prizes won by: $50
quilting Gift Certificate from the Quilting Queen won by LaTrelle Locks. Quilt Pattern book won by Joy Ivy. Applique caddy won by Wanda Jackson.
PROGRAM: The program was presented by Doris
Rice. It was on “How to Choose Your
Quilting”. She demonstrated different
types of quilting & how changing thread color changes your quilt.
