February Minutes

MEETING MINUTES

            Meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by guild president, Joy Ivy.

            Roll was called.   There were 17 members present.  We had one visitor, Connie Hart.

1.                  Sunshine Report was presented by Sherry Benbow.  We did not know of any members being ill.

            Meeting minutes from the January meeting were discussed. Angela McCorkle  made the motion to accept the minutes as read, Doniene Fulagar seconded the motion, motion carried.

            Treasurer’s report was presented. Robin Moody made the motion to accept the minutes as written, Doniene Fulagar seconded the motion, motion carried.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:

1.         Row by Row Exchange-  Doris was not present.  Next blocks will be stocking for those doing Christmas theme & Butterflies for houses theme

2.         Block of the Month Exchange – Cindy Hadley presented next months BOM which is a “spool of thread” block.

3.         Strip Exchange- March color is pastels or anything Easter

4.         Quilt Show Report was presented by Angela McCorkle.

            NEW BUSINESS

1.         Sarah Miller will be a speaker on Friday at our Quilt show.

2.         Sherri M. has a group that can assist with the take down on Saturday.

3.         Cindy Hadley will take over quilt check-in on thursday.  Millie Schwab will assist               her.

4.         Vendors for the show are: Sew It Up, Front Porch Quilts, Hands on Tradition, Scrappy Quilters, Snips & Pins, Z0-Ray Creations, Stamps by Kate, Alto Cutting  Systems, & The Redwork Lady.

SHOW AND TELL

1.  Millie Schwab – Finished the binding on the donation quilt.  

2.  Mildred Turner – Yellow brick road baby quilt & a self-binding baby blanket.         

3.  Becky Martin – Wee care quilt & row by row, deer & trees.           

4.  Alice Young – Birthday quilt she made from fabric all her friends gave her for her birthday.  She then embroidered their signatures on the quilt.

5.  Doniene Fulagar – Mid-winter Blues, a blog project.  Mug rug made by a friend.     

6.  Cindy Hadley – Row by row, trees.

7.  Sheila Smith – Row by row, trees.

8.  Joy Ivy -  Row by row, churn dash, Santas, & ornaments.  Quilt named 2^nd hand clothes.

MONTHLY DRAWINGS:

           

            The monthly block drawing was won by Becky Martin.

            The strip drawing was won by Joy Ivy.

PROGRAM:

Doniene Fulagar did a presentation on how to make a 3 pocket purse.  For those that chose to stay, worked on making the purses.

            Meeting adjourned.
