November 18, 2014 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Joy Ivy.
Roll was called, there were 25 members present.
Minutes were read by Vickie Mazurek, Shelia Smith read
the treasurer report.
Sunshine
Report: Mildred broke her
wrist at the Hamilton Holiday Market, Donna Hector’s husband passed away. Donna
is part of the night quilt guild.
Wee
Care: Ruby reported 7
quilts/blankets to take to the hospital.
CPS
Bags: No report.
Old
Business: Lana Webb reported
that $104.00 was made selling tickets on the donation quilt at the Hamilton
Holiday Market. Nancy Tubb and Norma
Bessent are taking the quilt to the Goldthwaite Arts and Crafts Festival
November 29th.
New
Business: Discussion about
separating the donation quilt from the quilt show. Doniene Fullager made a
motion to discuss it at a later date,
LaTrelle Locks second the motion.
Robin Moody presented the “Magazine Challenge”. Numbers
were drawn, the picture on that page number in your magazine is the inspiration
for a project you will bring back in February.
Christmas party was discussed. We will start at 10:30.
Things to bring are a covered dish, Robin will bring the meat. Also bring 3 fat quarters for the dice game
and a gift for Chinese gift game..$10-15
Show
& Tell: Doris
Rice showed a quilt she made from her block in the Quiltmakers Magazine and a
travel bag.
Doniene Fullagaer
showed her “Star of Wonder” Christmas quilt made of homespun plaids.
Patsy Oherlien
showed a Spiderweb quilt that belonged her grandmother and told a funny story
about “the cigarette burns” in it. She also showed a cowl collar.
Sherri Marshall showed an autumn table runner and a
graduation quilt she made.
Elaine Anderson showed the Card Tricks quilt she made
from the BOM blocks she won last month.
Millie Shwab demonstrated different ways to make the
disappearing block.
The “Brown Bag Projects” were revealed.
Winners
:
Penny Auction winners were, Jeanie,
Doris and Robin. Door Prize winners were, Wanda and Ruby. Fat Quarter winner
was, Doris.
Meeting adjourned.
