BROWNWOOD QUILTERS’ GUILD
Minutes
of Meeting of May 17, 2016

The Guild President, Lana Webb, called the meeting to order and
welcomed nineteen members and four visitors:
Wanda Baker, Carol Bullion, Jan Cate and Ann Turner. She recognized those with May birthdays:
LaTrelle Locks, Robin Moody and Debra Revay; neither were present. Lana thanked Joy Ivy for bringing today’s
program prizes and made a note that Vickie Mazurek had volunteered to take
Robin Moody’s place to bring the prizes for June. Connie Hart will be responsible for the Block
of the Month in June.
Consent Agenda – Hearing no additions or other changes to the
minutes or treasurer’s report, Joy Ivy moved to approve as presented. Ruby Goodwin seconded the motion; motion
carried.
Committee Reports – Sunshine Committee: Those on the prayer list were to remain and
additional prayers were requested for Betty Scott Family and Robin Cadenhead
Key.
Old Business – Lana reminded everyone to turn in tickets for the
donation quilt and pick more up if needed.
New Business – The new fiscal year will begin next month. Annual dues may be paid today or at next
month’s meeting. Dues are $24 per year.
Elections –
Millie Schwab and Joy Ivy served as the nominating committee and reported the following slate of officers:
President Lana Webb
Vice
President Jeanie Ortegon
(assisted by Donna Swanger)
Secretary Becky Martin
Treasurer Connie Hansen
No nominations
were received from the floor. Ruby
Goodwin moved that the slate be approved by
acclamation and Sherri Marshall seconded the motion; motion carried.
Finish Up
·
Membership Dues were paid by 10 current members
and new members: Carol Bullion, Jan Cate
and Ann Turner.
·
Sherri Marshall presented the Block of the Month
– X’s and O’s and had chosen a white background with red X’s and O’s.
·
Mildred Turner won the fat quarters
·
Program prizes were won by Biolanda Villalpando,
Charlene Cortez, Mildred Turner and Lana Webb.
·
Muriel Lamkin turned in 25 pillowcases and won a
$50 gift certificate to the Quilters’ Hideout.
