Basic Quilting Terminology
BASIC QUILTING TERMINOLOGY
1. BOM – Block of the Month
2. Fat Quarter – Piece of fabric measuring 18” x 22”.
3. Fat Eighth – Piece of fabric measuring 9” x 22”.
4. Seam Allowance – Unless otherwise specified, all seams are ¼” wide.
5. UFO – Unfinished projects.
6. PSA – Personal Seam Allowance. This is each individual’s quarter-inch seam allowance as sewn on their machine.
7. RST – Right Sides Together
8. WOF – Width of Fabric
9. WSR – Wrong Sides Together
